Skilled trades are in short supply in Ontario. But so is affordable housing. Home School by Schulich is a new kind of scholarship that allows students give back to the community by tackling the housing crisis in the most effective way possible: building new, affordable homes and donating them to those in need. The entire 2-year diploma program consists of building a home from the foundation up. Teachers become foremen, and students become experts. You graduate when the house is approved by the home inspector. This generation believes in giving back. What if a scholarship in the trades could do exactly that?
